Pandebono, Colmaiz, 1kg (BBF 5/1/2024)
Pandebono or pan de bono is a type of Colombian bread made of yucca, cheese, eggs, and in some regions of the country, guava jam. Traditionally, it is consumed with hot chocolate, still warm a few minutes after baking. It is very popular in the Colombian department of Valle del Cauca. This bread can be made in both a round and a ring shape.
How to prepare it?
Ingredients
- Pandebono Colmaíz®:1000 g
- Ground cheese: 1000 g
- Margarine: 250 g
- Water (approx.): 650 g
Preparation
Mix the ground cheese with the Pandebono Colmaíz® mixture.
Open a space in the center of the mixture and add the margarine and part of the water, kneading vigorously.
Continue adding the rest of the water until you obtain a dough with a soft and moist texture that can be easily molded.
Assemble the pandebonos as you like and place them on a previously greased tray. Place the pandebonos 3 cm apart.
Bake the pandebonos for 10 to 12 minutes at a temperature of 260 °C, until golden brown.
Ingredients: Modified cassava starch, corn starch, sugar, precooked corn flour, and salt.
